President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that Russia is trying to weaken and divide the EU. The Head of State said this in an interview with the Finnish media, reports his press office.

"Who does not receive the benefits of the EU's existence? France feels the benefit, as well as Germany and the UK, even despite Brexit. Finland also receives it. Russia sends forces to weaken the EU, Putin wants to undermine the credibility and divide the EU, carrying out influence on individual states", said Poroshenko.

The President also expressed his concern over the situation that now exists in the EU. "They say that Putin has said that the collapse of the Soviet Union was the greatest tragedy of the 90s for him. As for me, the collapse of the European Union will be the real tragedy", added the President.
