The President of Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with the Speaker of Seimas of Republic of Lithuania Viktoras Pranckietis.  The official representative office of the Ukrainian leader reported this.

Poroshenko thanked Lithuania for the consistent attitude towards the support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, condemnation of the Russian aggression and illegal occupation of Crimea.

‘The sides expressed the solicitude towards the aggressive policy of Russia in the context of the militarization of the temporary occupied Crimea and holding of the military drills by Russian along our common borders. The necessity of the further cooperated international efforts and the strengthening of the proper sanctions was noted’, the message said.

According to the message, the Ukrainian President thanked for the active support of Lithuania in the implementation of the visa-free regime with the European Union for the citizens of Ukraine and the final entry into force of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on September 1, 2017.

The sides discussed in details the issue of the practical implementation of the initiative of the Seimas of Lithuania ‘New European Plan for Ukraine for 2017-2020 or Marshall Plan for Ukraine that provides the submission of the powerful financial and investment help and support to hold the reforms. The agreement on the further cooperated work for the approval and support of the EU was made.

Marshall Plan is the initiative of the European and American politicians towards the creation of the reforms program for Ukraine to draw the state nearer to the standards of the West Europe.
