President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko considers the installation of the monument to Volodymyr the Great in Moscow as attempt of a hybrid appropriation of history. He stated this during the opening of monument to Grigory Skovoroda in Ljubljana (Slovenia).

"In the Kremlin, near the unburied Lenin, they opened a monument to our Kyiv Prince Volodymyr. This is a demonstration of attempts of hybrid appropriation of history." - Poroshenko said.

Let us remind, on Borovitskaya Square in the center of Moscow on the so-called National Unity Day on November 4 (celebrated in Russia on the state level) was opened a monument to Prince Volodymyr the Great. For this decision voted for the majority of the Moscow City Duma Commission on monumental art.
