President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held the negotiations with Managing Director of Public Investment Fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan during his work visit to Saudi Arabia as the press service of the presidential administration reported.

The sides discussed the broadening of the investment cooperation between the countries during the negotiations.

‘We welcome the participation of Saudi public and private capital in the implementation of attractive and mutually beneficial projects on the territory of Ukraine, in particular in such areas as aircraft engineering, agriculture, shipbuilding, defense industry, energy, tourism and recreation infrastructure, as well as in the process of privatization in our country’, Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

Ukrainian president invited the Saudi companies to participate in the privatization in Ukraine.

‘In his turn, Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan informed on the activity of the Public Investment Fund within the implementation of the ambitious plan of economic reforms ‘Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030’ aimes to reduce the Kingdom’s dependence on oil revenues. The assets of the fund amount to 160 billion dollars as at 2017’, the message said.

Poroshenko arrived in Saudi Arabia with the official visit yesterday. He intends to hold the negotiations with King of Saudi Arabia Salman, his successor, First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Poroshenko will depart to the UAE today.
