Today, on January 31, fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will not come to the questioning to the State Investigation Bureau as he is abroad as European Solidarity Party reported on Facebook citing Ihor Holovan, the lawyer of Poroshenko.
“Fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is away on business out of Ukraine until the late evening of February 3, 2020 and he cannot come upon the summons for a valid reason,” Holovan noted.
It is specified that Poroshenko ‘will testify on the case of Ukrainian sailors’ after return from business trip. The questioning on this case was planned on January 31.
On January 24, Petro Poroshenko arrived for an interview at the State Bureau of Investigation. Supporters of the ex-Ukrainian state leader gathered next to the building of the SIB to show their solidarity.
As we reported, Poroshenko filed 14 claims for non-pecuniary damage caused due to the inaction of prosecutors and investigators. He noted that the investigating judges had issued 14 rulings on the unlawful inaction of prosecutors and investigators in cases concerning "Poroshenko's political persecution."
