Poroshenko, Merkel may discuss German participation in resolving Donbas conflict next week

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko may meet Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel next week, in order to discuss further involving of Germany in the resolution of the Donbas conflict and deploying the UN peacekeeping mission, as Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yelisieiev said, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

“I don’t rule out that the next week there may be a meeting of our President with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. During the meeting, they will obviously discuss further engaging of Germany in settling the situation in Donbas, discuss new initiatives, which are foreseen by the German coalition agreement. In particular, it’s deploying a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas,” Eliseev said.
