President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held the phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel as the press service of the Ukrainian president reported.
Poroshenko congratulated Merkel on win of her party at the elections to Bundestag and claimed that the stability of the whole Europe depends from this win.
Moreover, the parties traditionally discussed the Donbas issue and implementation of the Minsk Agreements. 'Particularly they coordinated the approaches on the implementation of the initiative on the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in occupied Donbas and uncontrolled part of the Russian-Ukrainian border', the press service noted.
Also, they discussed the recent sentence to Ilmi Umerov that was made by the court in Crimea that is under control of Russia. Poroshenko emphasized the importance of the actions that will prevent the implementation of this sentence and the consolidation of the international support on the issue of the release of the Ukrainian prisoners in Russia
The election to the parliament of Germany took place on September 24. The Christian Democratic Union headed by Merkel took the first place with 33% of votes.
