President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko together with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the issue of an immediate returning to negotiations on the exchange and release of the Ukrainian citizens, political prisoners who are illegally detained in the Russian Federation and in the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea. This is reported by the press service of the head of state.
"The issue of the release of political prisoners who are illegally detained in prisons of the Russian Federation, in prisons in occupied Crimea and an urgent return to the exchange of our heroes, including the military who are illegally detained in the occupied territory of Donbas, was discussed," Poroshenko said.
The head of state added that the issue of promoting Ukraine’s proposals on introducing peacekeepers in Donbas was also discussed. And the leaders of France and Germany will soon make a statement on the issues discussed at the tripartite meeting in Paris.
Earlier it was reported that a meeting of the commission on strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States at the level of heads of foreign ministries will be held in Washington on November 16.
