The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze within the state visit to Georgia. At the meeting, Poroshenko and Kobakhidze agreed to strengthen the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the countries. The press service of the Ukrainian President reported this.
The sides highly estimated the perspectives of the development of the whole spectrum of the relations of the strategic partnership between Georgia and Ukraine.
‘The sides emphasized the importance of the profound inter-parliamentary Ukrainian-Georgian cooperation. Particularly, the issue of the intensification of the dialogue and inter- parliamentary groups of the friendship at the highest bodies of legislation of the both states’, the message noted.
It is agreed to strengthen the coordination of Ukraine and Georgia within international and regional organizations. Particularly, with taking into account the chairmanship of Ukraine and Georgia in the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development, GUAM.
The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia noted that at the moment the strategic partnership with Ukraine unites all political forces of Georgia.
