The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held the meeting with the President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher within the visit to France. The press service of the Ukrainian President reported this.
'The sides discussed the perspectives of the strengthening of the bilateral inter-parliamentarian cooperation. The President of Ukraine expressed the hope for the further support of the Ukrainian European strivings by France. The President of Senate hailed the finish of the ratification of the Association Agreement of the visa-free regime with EU', the press service reported.
Also, the special attention was focused on Donbas issue. Poroshenko informed on the systematical violations of the Minsk Agreements from the Russian side and emphasized the necessity to follow the sanctions regime against Kremlin.
'The President of Senate expressed the support to expand the sanctions against Russia. The Ukrainian President invited the French Senators to visit Ukraine in the near time and get known to the situation in Donbas. Also, he emphasized the inadmissibility of the unapproved trips of the French lawmakers of the regional level to the territory of the occupied Donbas and Crimea. Poroshenko invited the President of Senate of France to visit Ukraine in the convenient time', the message reports.
Earlier, Poroshenko met the President of France Emmanuel Macron.
