Poroshenko grants Ukrainian citizenship to Ex-deputy of Russian State Duma Ponomarev

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko granted the citizenship of Ukraine to ex-deputy of Russian State Duma Ilya Ponomarev. Ponomarev posted on Facebook.

 “Today, the incumbent President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the order of granting Ukrainian citizenship to me on the last day of his cadence in accordance with the state interest. I said to him and I would like to repeat it here: it will be the new stage of my life and it is great responsibility”, Ponomarev wrote.

According to the report, Ponomarev pointed out that he “will use the new status in such a way I order to gain new foreign investments for the country, to create the new working places and to increase the state budget”.

Ex-deputy of Russian State Duma Ilya Ponomarev has also expressed certainty that the prosperity of Ukraine is the key to changes in Russia.

As w reported earlier, Former MP of Russian Duma Ilya Ponomarev, one of the main witnesses in the case of Viktor Yanukovych’s state treason, testified that the invitations to the members of the Federation Council (upper house of the Russian parliament) were being sent before Yanukovych’s letter to Putin, which pleaded to use Russian military on Ukraine’s territory, appeared.
