Implementation of Minsk agreements, escalation of the armed hostilities in Donbas and the initiative to deploy the UN peacekeeping mission – these were the topics for negotiations between President Petro Poroshenko and Canadian Foreign Minister Christine Freeland.
Both sides agreed that Russia intends to undermine the implementation of Minsk agreements.
Poroshenko recognized Ottawa’s part in promoting the Crimean resolution approved by the UN General Assembly. He also urged Canada to contribute to the group of countries supporting the de-occupation of Crimea.
Freeland arrived in Kyiv on Thursday; she already met with President Poroshenko and plans to negotiate with her Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin.
