Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko entrusted the National Security and Defence Council to have a separate session on counterwork Russian interference in the elections. He wrote it on his Facebook page.
“Next year, us, Ukraine, and many other our partners will face important elections defining the speed and the quality of our development and cooperation towards midterm. Kyiv, Brussels, Washington and most of the Western capitals have no doubts that the Kremlin prepares a large-scale interference in the election process to break the European unity and solidarity with Ukraine which is dangerous for the aggressor and to divide the Transatlantic Alliance and support the populist, nationalist and Euro-skeptic political forces. We have agreed to coordinate our efforts and cooperate on every level with the EU and US leaders. I entrust the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine to hold a separate session on counterwork the interference in the elections,” he noted.
Poroshenko added that he was convinced that our state would prepare and would counterwork any Russia’s interference in the elections process regardless of what it would be – a cyber-attack or a disinformation campaign.
Earlier, we reported that Petro Poroshenko went to the territory of the EU in a private trip on July 29 – August 5.
