President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appealed to the convicted in Russia Olexander Kolchenko on the occasion of his birthday. The head of state wrote this on his Twitter page.
"Today, the Ukrainian Olexander Kolchenko turns 28. Unfortunately, he is forced to meet this day in the dungeons of the Kremlin. We do not stop fighting for your release and release of all Ukrainian hostages. Ukraine is with you, Olexander," President wrote.
We recall that in August 2015, Military Court in Rostov-on-Don (Russia) sentenced Kolchenko to 10 years of imprisonment on a fabricated charge of preparing terrorist attacks in Crimea. Together with him, the film director Oleh Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The international society "Memorial" recognized Kolchenko and Sentsov as political prisoners.
