On May 12, 2016, former president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko bragged about increasing the utility tariffs by 100% before U.S. Vice President Joe Biden. The increase was higher than the IMF asked, as Strana reported.
“Within the last three weeks, we demonstrate real great progress in the sphere of reforms. We voted in the parliament for 100% tariffs despite the fact that the IMF expected only 75%,” the president said.
Besides, Poroshenko stated that “we are launching reform for the prices for medicine removing all the obstacles”.
“I agree,” Biden said.
As we reported, non-affiliated MP Andriy Derkach published a few audio records of the talk of then ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Head of the U.S. State Department John Kerry.
They discussed, particularly, the resignation of Prosecutor-General Viktor Shokin. It was the issue of the recording of the talk of Poroshenko and Kerry dated December 3, 2015.
