Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda during 53rd Munich Security Conference. This was reported by the press service of Ukrainian Head of State.

"The Ukrainian President informed on the escalation in Donbas and the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine," the message reads.

Poroshenko stressed the importance of maintaining sanctions against the Russian Federation until Minsk agreement is implemented as well as restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity is reached.

The parties also discussed the issue of reconciliation between the Ukrainian and Polish nations strongly condemning recent acts of vandalism in Huta Pieniacka and the National Historic Memorial “Bykivnia graves” probably organized by a third party.

Ukrainian President also praised Polish consistent positions regarding "Nord Stream 2" project and appeal against the decision of the European Commission to increase gas pumping through OPAL accordingly.

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) is an annual conference on international security policy and takes place in Germany on February 17 – 19. This year’s conference will be dedicated to the Transatlantic and NATO’s relations after the election of Donald Trump as the US President, the state of cooperation in security and defence sphere within the European Union, crisis in Ukraine and relationship with the Russian Federation, Syrian war and security situation in Asia-Pacific region including Korean Peninsula.
