US President Donald Trump is having a meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican for a short private audience on the third leg of his overseas trip

U.S. President Donald Trump is meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican today,  on May 24.underscoring the emphasis during his first foreign trip on the three Abrahamic faiths, reported by the New York Times.

The two men had a clash of words last year when Trump was running for president with a major pledge to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Later in the morning, the Trumps will participate in an expanded audience with His Holiness Pope Francis.

The president will then participate in a bilateral meeting with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.

He arrived for the meeting along with his wife Melania, daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Later Trump shall meet Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state.

Mrs. Trump, wearing a black dress and with her hair covered by a veil, who listened to an attendant, and Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter and adviser, also wearing a veil over her hair and in a black dress with lace hem and pearls.

Melania Trump is making headlines over her apparent refusal to hold the president's han. The president appears to reach for his wife's hand, but Melania quickly moves it away, brushing hair out of her face.
