U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo has confirmed he was listening to how U.S. President Donald Trump asked Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky by phone to hold investigation against his political rival Joe Biden as The New York Times reported.

“I was on the phone call,” Pompeo said.

He did not answer the question whether there was something that might distress him and specified that the topic of the talk concerned U.S.-Ukraine relations.

“It’s been remarkably consistent. And we will continue to try to drive those set of outcomes,” U.S. State Secretary underlined.

President Trump denies illegal pressure on Ukraine and accused his rivals in the organization of “takeover”.

On September 25, the White House published the transcript of the talk of two presidents. On September 26, the U.S. Congress published the full version of the complaint against the pressure of U.S. President Donald Trump on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during the phone talk in July.

In his turn, Zelensky stated that Ukraine would hardly publish the transcript of the conversation between him and U.S. President Donald Trump.
