US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with DPRK leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang. He announced this on his Twitter page.

“I had a good trip to Pyongyang to meet with Chairman Kim. We continue to make progress on the agreements reached at the Singapore summit. Thank you for hosting me and my team,” said Pompeo.

The purpose of his trip to North Korea was to advance the negotiations on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States was ready to immediately begin negotiations with North Korea in order to complete the denuclearization of the DPRK by January 2021.

On June 12, the first meeting in the history of the current US president with the leader of North Korea was held in Singapore. The main theme of the summit was the nuclear disarmament of the DPRK. Recently, Kim Jong-un asked Trump about the second meeting.
