The health status of Ukrainian political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh gets worse. Olga Dinze, the lawyer said so as quoted by Radio Liberty

According to her, the diagnosis has not been set yet. Balukh's kidneys hurt, and the swellings got bigger. However, the independent doctor and a psychologist cannot reach the colony where Balukh is staying.

Dinze also said it was impossible to pass Balukh the food he needed after the hunger strike. Currently, this opportunity is limited, since the prisoner was taken to the cell.

"We only managed to pass him the new glasses. We continue to state that the doctor and psychologist should be allowed to visit the colony, and we figure out the circumstances related to Balukh's citizenship", she said.

On June 27, Balukh started the hunger strike but gave it up when the Russian side let Ukrainian consul visit him.

Balukh was detained in December 2016. The Russian FSB claimed to have found 90 rounds for firearms and several TNT pellets at his home. The Ukrainian political prisoners and his defense team state that he is being punished for his pro-Ukrainian views; he hoisted a Ukrainian flag in his yard back in the occupied Crimea.
