Police, Saakashvili supporters fight in downtown Kyiv

The National Police servicemen and the supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili went for a fight near Zhovtnevy Palace in Kyiv.

The police surrounded the building which hosted a school play timed to the upcoming holidays; there are hundreds of children and their parents inside the building. Anton Herashchenko, the counselor of Ukraine’s interionr minister posted that on Facebook.

The rally in support of scandalous politician Mikheil Saakashvili took place in Kyiv earlier today.

According to various Ukrainian outlets, from 3,000 to 10,000 activists participated. They carried Ukrainian and red-black flags (the latter being the symbol of the Ukrainian nationalism, - 112 International). Banners of various political forces (New Forces Movement, Svoboda, Automaidan and 5.10.) were visible in the crowd.  

People came from many cities across Ukraine – Odesa, Poltava, Mykolaiv and others.

Some protesters call for President Poroshenko’s impeachment

On December 3 and December 10, similar rallies in support of Saakashvili took place in Kyiv; earlier this week, the politician was released from detention by the court’s decision.
