Poland aims to resume close strategic contacts with Ukraine, Georgia and Lithuania. Mateusz Morawiecki, the new head of the Polish government said that while presenting the action plan of the Cabinet at the convention of the Sejm (the Polish Parliament, - 112 International).
‘We would like to return to the true strategic partnership in the East. We plan to deepen our relations with Ukraine, Lithuania or Georgia and improve the quality of these relations,’ he said.
According to him, Poland will continue to act as the ‘unifying force’ in the region – within the Visegrad Four and the Three Seas initiative, which includes the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas. Besides, Morawiecki also mentioned Poland’s intention to cut the level of energy dependence from Russia; the government plans to construct the regional gas hub, which will supply the fuel to neighboring countries.
