The main goal of Polish participation in the UN Security Council is the demand to respect international law, in particular regarding Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz in New York on the occasion of the meeting of UN Security Council on issues of Afghanistan and Central Asia, reports the Polish Radio.
"For Poland, international law is the basis of the international order, and the situation when it is violated - and this is also in the neighborhood with Poland, in the east of Ukraine - is not beneficial for security," he said.
Chaputowicz added that Poland will strive more than ever to participate in resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
We recall, on January 9, the Polish president Andrzej Duda, on the proposal of Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetsky, appointed new members of the Council of Ministers. Minister of Foreign Affairs became Jacek Czaputowicz.
