President of Poland Andrzej Duda signed the law on the fight against African swine fever, the document is providing buildung of a fence on the border with Ukraine and Belarus, Ukrinform reports.
As noted, a fence extending over a thousand kilometers will be installed along high-speed roads in close proximity to the border.
In addition, the special law amends the law on hunting in Poland. It's about permits to shoot wild boars in the territories that are under protection. For this, hunters can take paid leave up to six days.
Note that the cost of building a wall of more than 1,000 km is 130 million zł (more than 37 million dollars). At the same time, in the first year of operation, the cost of its maintenance will reach 190 million zł (more than $ 54 million). The wall will be built during 2018-2021.
Since the emergence of ASF in Poland in 2014 so far, 93 foci of this disease have been detected in three districts. Also, 461 cases of ASF infection of wild boars were detected. Earlier, in a number of regions of Ukraine, an outbreak of ASF was reported.
