Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the government is developing a plan to introduce strict quarantine in the country. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"Regarding the introduction of a tougher quarantine. This plan is really being developed, but this is plan B, if the weekend quarantine does not work. We have started a public discussion of this plan B so that the whole country understands it. We want our steps to be clear and predictable for people and business. Therefore, this week we met twice with the mayors ", wrote the prime minister.

At the same time, Shmygal stressed that there is no specific date for the introduction of a lockdown in Ukraine now.

Earlier, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxym Stepanov spoke about the condition under which a full lockdown can be introduced in Ukraine. According to him, with the current ratio of patients to hospitalized, this can happen with 30 000 new patients on Covid-19 per day.

Over the past day, 14,580 people have been infected with coronavirus in Ukraine - this is another anti-record for the country. In total, more than 612 000 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus disease have been recorded in the country.
