The United States of America is sending a third strike group led by the aircraft carrier Nimitz to the western Pacific to restrain North Korea's missile and nuclear programs, the Voice of America reports referring to two sources.
"This is a rare case when three US aircraft carriers will be deployed in the western part of the Pacific Ocean," the report said.
According to sources, Nimitz will join the already deployed in the western part of the Pacific carrier aircrafts Karl Vinson and Ronald Reagan.
For US President Donald Trump, one of the main security challenges is the growing threat posed by the expansion of North Korean nuclear and missile programs. Earlier, he promised not to allow the DPRK to advance in the development of weapons to a level that would allow it to strike a nuclear strike on the continental territory of the United States.
According to experts, Pyongyang can achieve such an opportunity after about 2020.
On Friday, the White House issued a statement according to which the leaders of Japan and the US agreed to "strengthen sanctions against North Korea" in an attempt to prevent further work on the North Korean nuclear and missile programs.
