U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi will not send articles of impeachment against U.S. President Donald Trump to the Senate on Friday, Reuters reports.

“The speaker will make this decision, the speaker will make the announcement and the speaker will take the action. It will be when the speaker decides," House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said.

Pelosi has withheld articles of impeachment in order to pressure Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to bewray details of his plan for a Senate trial.

As we reported earlier, on November 18, U.S. House of Representatives impeached Donald Trump in a historic vote.

House approved both articles of impeachment: Trump was accused of abusing his power by asking Ukrainian officials to announce investigations into Bidens, which would benefit his reelection, and of obstructing Congress in its impeachment inquiry.

Meanwhile, former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden stated that he does not mind testifying in the Senate as part of an investigation into the impeachment of U.S. President Donald Trump.
