The burning of Ukrainian flag, which occurred in Warsaw on November 11 was nothing but a provocation by a pro-Russian activist. Jan Peklo, the ambassador of Poland to Ukraine, said this in his interview with Interfax agency.

‘It was clearly a provocation launched by the pro-Russian environment in Poland. And I guess there will be more of them. Russia is trying to alienate us, to drive a wedge between Poles and Ukrainians,’ he said.

The ambassador added that Russia has been doing everything to destabilize Ukraine and not just Ukraine; however, the EU and Poland are aware of Russia’s actions in this area. ‘Poles know what Russia and its methods are all about. But the hybrid war remains a threat,’ Peklo stressed.

The diplomat also said Poland would continue to support keeping the sanctions against Russia, until all provisions of the Minsk agreements are complied with.

Ukraine already prepared the protest note to be sent to the Polish Foreign Ministry.
