The attainment of peace in Ukraine is the key priority for Albania during the presidency in the OSCE in 2020, as Ukrinform reported citing OSCE Chairman Edi Rama.

“The assistance to peace settlement (in Donbas, - 112.international) is the priority for Albanian presidency in OSCE in 2020. That is why I started my first official visit at the post to Ukraine,” Rama stated.

“Our goal, first of all, should be the provision of the complete and stable ceasefire. In 2020, we will try to improve the situation with the security and daily life of people living in areas suffering from conflict,” Rama added.

According to him, his special representative in Ukraine and the Trilateral Contact Group, Ambassador Heidi Grau will study the ways of how to improve peace in Donbas.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the extension of the mandate of the OSCE SMM in Donbas with OSCE Chairman Edi Rama.
