Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council has to develop the broadest complex of measures in terms of protecting the country's national interests, as Ukraine faces external threats and instability. Oleksiy Danilov, the Council Secretary said so during the coordination session of the authority. It was focused on the possible scenarios of the reintegration of temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The Secretary stressed that President Zelensky's position in this regard is firm: the problem of the occupied area cannot be solved by military means, and it has to be solved by the means of political and diplomatic measures.
According to Danilov, Ukraine will be able to get the temporarily occupied territories and stop the military actions, with the aid of international partners.
"Not only Ukraine but also Europe need peace. Our common mission is to finish this war", he said.
Earlier, Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said President Volodymyr Zelensky would convene the National Security and Defense Council session; it would be timed to the upcoming Normandy Summit meeting in Paris on December 9.
