The Verkhovna Rada unblocked the signing of the law on de-oligarchization. The online broadcast of the plenary session can be viewed HERE.

Twelve resolutions on the repeal of the law on prevention of threats to national security-related to excessive influence of persons of significant economic or political importance in public life (oligarchs) were registered on the parliament's website, blocking the signing of this law for the Verkhovna Rada and, accordingly, for the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Council did not support any of the resolutions.

As it was reported earlier, the relevant law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on September 23. The bill was considered in the Verkhovna Rada under an abbreviated procedure - parliamentarians were not able to make their amendments in the session hall. Almost all factions and groups (except Servant of the People) voted against, they demanded consideration of amendments from each faction.

At the end the law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, although a collision was found in the document after that. In the final version had three corrections on the 5th article of law, an article on how an oligarch is recognized as an oligarch.
