Ukrainian citizens should come to Kyiv's main street, Khreshchatyk, on the Independence Day and honor the defenders of the state. Andriy Parubiy, the Speaker of the Parliament posted this on July 10.

Thus, Parubiy supported the initiative of common people to organize their own military parade - in the view of President Zelensky's decision not to hold one this year.

"In order to pay tribute to the immortal act of valor of Ukrainian heroes, I urge all those who stood and fought for Ukraine, the Revolution of Dignity participants, veterans of Ukraine-Russia war, the military people... to come to Khreshchatyk on August 2019, and join the Independence Parade across the main street of the state", he wrote.

He urged people to take the combat banners and flags that they carried when they protected Ukraine, chanting "Glory to Ukraine!".

"I'll be there with you. See you at Khreshchatyk on the Independence Day", the Speaker concluded.
