By the end of the year, the United States hopefully could make the ultimate decision on the supplies of lethal defensive weaponry to Ukraine. Andriy Parubiy, the head of the Ukrainian parliament, said that during his meeting with Paul Ryan, the speaker of the House of Representatives in the U.S Congress as quoted by Ukrinform news agency.
‘We actually talked through increasing funding to support Ukraine in the 2018 U.S. state budget. And we discussed the supplies of lethal weaponry for Ukraine. I hope the decision will be a positive one – especially in the regard to supplies of Javelin anti-tank missile launchers. I count on it and I hope my visit to the U.S. will make this issue easier to be solved.
‘I guess the decision should be made by the end of the year. Whatever it is – positive or negative – it must be a matter of several months, and they’ll be able to close books in the autumn,’ Parubiy said.
