The Verkhovna Rada is proposed to prohibit denying on the air on radio and television the fact of the Russian Federation's military aggression against Ukraine at the legislative level. The corresponding bill of MP Oleh Dunda No. 4188 has already been registered in the parliament.
"It is proposed to prohibit statements containing the denial of the fact of military aggression of the Russian Federation and its occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine," the explanatory note says.
The document establishes that the use of television and radio organizations is not allowed to broadcast expressions containing denial of the fact of military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Russia's occupation of a part of the territory of Ukraine, and Russia waging a hybrid war against Ukraine.
In case of violation, they propose to impose a fine of 25% of the license fee. The corresponding decision will be made by the National Council.
However, if the statements denying the military aggression of the Russian Federation were broadcast live and contained in the remarks of persons who are not employees of the television and radio organization, then it is not responsible for these violations. Except when the workers of the broadcasting organization did not stop their offenses on the air.
If the violations were not eliminated within a month after the application of the sanction in the form of a fine, as well as in the event of a repeated recovery of the fine for violation of the same provision of this law, the National Council applies to the court with a claim to revoke the broadcasting license of the broadcasting organization or revoke the license of the software service provider.
