State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is "critically lacking investigators", so the investigation into the Maidan case may be intermitted. In order for this not to happen, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must increase the number of investigators. This was stated by the director of the State Bureau of Investigation Roman Truba.
According to him, there are only 1500 employees across Ukraine. There are over 100 proceedings for each investigator at this moment. The law on the State Bureau of Investigation "limits the number of employees who can work in the State Bureau of Investigation to 1500 people across Ukraine, together with investigators, operatives and civil servants. But even so, there are over 100 proceedings for each investigator at the moment," Truba stated.
In addition, since November 20, Prosecutor General's Office has been forwarding all pending proceedings to other law enforcement agencies.
As we reported earlier, State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) refuted the criminal proceeding and pre-trial investigation relating to misappropriation of funds of the state budget more than $119,2 million in 2012 and 2013 by Andriy Bohdan.
