Parliament rejects bill on social advertisement

226 votes required for adoption a bill when 178 MPs voted positively

The Ukrainian Parliament rejected a bill on the placement of the advertisement with the picture of the combatants, volunteers and other individuals who have special services to the country. There were only 178 positive votes. The proposal to redraft the bill also didn’t gain the required number of votes.

The project of the law could impose distributers of advertisement to place the social advertisement in view of the pictures of combatants who have special services to the country. The combatants who received the Hero of Ukraine rank, Order of Ukraine or the Medal of Ukraine.

It was expected that the distributor would be exempted from having to pay for temporary use of platforms during the whole time of placement. Platforms that either the state or communal property.
