Palestine claimed to have canceled all peace agreements with Israel because of the drifting of Palestinian living houses in Western Jerusalem. Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of the Palestinian State said so during the government session as quoted by WAFA.
We will not succumb to dictatorship, and we deny the attempts to fob off the committed fact, specifically that in the Eastern Jerusalem", Abbas said.
Abbas said all decisions made by the Israeli government are considered illegal. Palestinians are always open to the just and long-lasting peace, but not ready to give up and co-exist with the occupation, he insisted.
The demolition of Palestinian buildings in the Western Jerusalem began July 22.
Germany, France, Spain, and the UK condemned the drifting since it breaches the international humanitarian law and the UN Security Council resolutions. The demolitions also violated the Oslo agreement; it stipulates that A and B sectors, where the works continue, belong to the State of Palestine.
In June, the Supreme Court of Israel decided that by developing the living quarters in Western Jerusalem, Palestinians breach the ban on the development of inhabited localities. The authority gave them time until July 19, demanding to demolish the houses. Since it did not happen, Israel took the action.
