Over 4,000 enterprises and establishments owned by Ukraine were nationalized by Russia in the territory of annexed Crimea as UNN reported citing Crimean Prosecutor’s Office.

“The prosecutor’s office gathered the evidence of the illegal “nationalization” by the Russian Federation of over 4,000 companies, establishments and organizations state-owned by Ukraine,” the message said.

Earlier Naftogaz Ukraine reported that it filed the lawsuit to the Tribunal of Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague on the sum of the compensation of the losses inflicted by the expropriation of the assets of Naftogaz group in Crimea. The company estimated losses at $5.2 billion.

Russia annexed Crimea in March 2014. Crimea is announced to be temporary occupied territory.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially announced February 20, 2014, to be the year of the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. On October 2015, then President Petro Poroshenko signed the proper law.

The international organization recognized the occupation and annexation of Crimea as illegal and condemned the actions of Russia. West imposed the number of sanctions against Russia.
