Over 30 MPs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine involved in the criminal proceedings investigated by State Investigation Bureau (SIB) as bureau’s Director Roman Truba reported.
“There is a great number of the criminal proceedings in which we call and will question the lawmakers. There are over 30 MPs, who we will question and estimate their activity, judicially analyze their actions,” Truba said.
Earlier the State Investigation Bureau launched the criminal proceeding against the General Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko on possible disclosing of the information about the investigation of the murder of activist Kateryna Hanzdiuk.
Besides, the SIB launched pre-trial investigation after journalists published information about the bribing of law enforcement officials. The investigators of the SBI started a pre-trial investigation of receiving a large bribe by an official, or by previous agreement by a group of people, committed twice, or by extortion of illicit enrichment.
In case the guilt of law enforcement officials is proved, they will face sentence of deprivation of the right to hold certain positions from 5 to 10 years or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years with confiscation of property.
