Airstrikes by the US military against Taliban positions in Sheberghan resulted in the death of more than 200 militants. This was announced by representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Fawad Aman.

The Taliban gathering was targeted by a B-52 bomber in Shebergan city of Jawzjan province today evening at 6:30 pm.

Earlier, the Taliban militants seized the capital of another province of Afghanistan - the city of Shebergan. The US has pledged for the airstrikes to counter the Taliban after they withdrew its forces from Afghanistan.
As reported before, U.S. President Joe Biden authorized up to $100 million from an emergency fund to meet "unexpected urgent" refugee needs stemming from the situation in Afghanistan, including for Afghan special immigration visa applicants.
