Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Lamberto Zannier will be on a working visit in Moscow on April 24-27. This is reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. One of the issues for the parties to discuss will be the Donbas conflict.
"We closely follow the work of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, together with the Secretary General, to consider possible measures to improve its effectiveness within the framework of the current mandate. It is important to observe the principles of objectivity and impartiality in the work of the mission," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary.
On April 24, the director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Center, Marcel Pesko (Slovakia), who accompanies the secretary-general during the trip, will visit the Donetsk and Gukovo border crossing points on the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Rostov region, where the OSCE observers group is stationed.
On April 25, Lamberto Zannier will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The meeting of the OSCE Secretary General with the leadership of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is also planned.
