OSCE is ready to support the deployment of UN peacekeepers in Donbas combat zone. Miroslav Lajcak, the Slovakian foreign minister said that during the press conference in Vienna.
'I discussed this issue with the UN Secretary General. I will also report to the UN Security Council in several weeks. So, if there's a decision to implement this mission, the OSCE will use its local experience to render support', Lajcak said.
At the same time, Lajcak pointed out that this issue is best to be addressed to the UN.
'This issue was discussed and mentioned, but it's not on the agenda of the UN Security Council officially. There's nothing to comment on currently. But we're watching the situation closely', he said.
Previously, a number of countries stated they were ready to send their peacekeepers to war-torn eastern Ukraine.
