OSCE calls situation in Zakarpattia peaceful

According to Hug, the mission strengthened the patrolling in Zakarpattia region and everything that was spotted was also published

The OSCE observers constantly located in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine and monitored the situation with the Hungarians in Zakarpattia, called the situation in the region peaceful.  Alexander Hug, the first deputy head of OSCE SMM in Ukraine claimed this as 112.ua reported.

'According to the information that we have got from that group, the situation in the region is peaceful. Of the situation in Zakarpattia changes we will report on this', Hug claimed.

The OSCE mission strengthened the monitoring in Uzhhorod after the incidents with the Transcarpathian Union of Hungarians. Two attacks were spotted in February. The law enforcers solve both cases. Totally, five people were detained; the possible organizer of the crimes is on the wanted list.

On march 5, Head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Hennady Moscal claimed that law enforcers detained people suspected in the arson of the building. He also stated that there are soldiers of the Anti-Terrorist Operation are among detained for the attack on the Hungarian Culture Association in Uzhgorod, western Ukraine on February 27.
