The wounded Ukrainian sailors underwent surgeries in the detention center in Moscow. Pryamyi TV channel reported that on Friday morning, quoting Viktoriya Khrystenko, the counselor to Ukrainian Navy commander.
'One of the men sustains heavy injuries to his legs, and the fact that he uses crutches to walk does not tell us a thing. We don't see his wounds or what kind of surgery he undertook at the detention center. One of the guys had his fingers amputated', Khrystenko said.
This information came from the volunteers who helped the sailors during their stay in the detention center in Simferopol.
Khrystenko also urged people to write letters for Ukrainian sailors; the letters should be in the Russian language, containing no national symbols of Ukraine. No political topics should be mentioned; otherwise, the prison censorship will not let the letter through.
