Judges of the Constitution Court of Ukraine elected Oleksandr Tupytsky the Head of the Court. The press office of the court reported that on Tuesday, September 17.

Serhiy Holovaty is elected Deputy Head of the Court.

According to Part 6, Article 33 of the Law on the Constitution Court of Ukraine, the Head of the Constitution Court is elected at a special plenary session only for one three-year-long term. The voting procedure is a closed one.

Previously, the Constitution Court of Ukraine dismissed Natalya Shaptala from the office of the Head of the Court; she wrote a resignation letter, asking to dismiss her. 

Oleksandr Tupytsky is the experienced lawyer who served as the judge of various levels throughout his career. In May 2013, he was appointed the judge of the Constitution Court of Ukraine. In March 2018, he became the Deputy Head of the Court.
