The Ukrainian lawmakers approved Oksana Markarova's candidacy as the Finance Minister. 242 MPs voted 'yes', with 226 votes necessary to pass.  

The official previously served in this authority as Acting Minister and Deputy Minister. She de facto chaired the Ministry when the-then Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk was sacked in June 2018.

Thursday session of the Ukrainian Parliament poses special meaning; the MPs may approve the state budget for 2019. 112 International follows the situation live.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman called the draft budget 'well-balanced, realistic and the one that should provide the development of our state'. The annual incomes are expected to make USD 357 billion; the expenses are to make just about the same sum; the minimum wage and the poverty line will be increased. The government expects the minimum monthly wage to be set on the level of USD 149.
