The new head of the National Committee for Regulation of Energy and Municipal Services of Ukraine is Oksana Kryvenko. This was the decision of the Committee, which gathered for a session on Wednesday.

According to the press service of the authority, Kryvenko previously served as the Deputy Director of the Committee's Department for Settling Relations in the Oil and Gas Area. She became the full-fledged member of the regulatory authority in May.

Previously, President Petro Poroshenko fired Dmytro Vovk from the office of the head of the National Committee for Energy and Municipal Services of Ukraine. Vovk refused to continue working in this office after his authority expired; he also did not participate in the contest for this particular job.

Earlier, German president Frank-Walther Steinmeier claimed that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is the private initiative. ‘Answering the question on the threat to the European solidarity and security imposed by the German project of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, German president said that it is the private initiative’, Polskie Radio reported.
