The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has responded to the sanctions that the US State Department has imposed against the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky. The corresponding statement was posted on the Telegram channel of the President's Office.
“For economic prosperity and Euro-Atlantic integration, declared not only in the Constitution, but above all in Ukrainian society, Ukraine must overcome a system dominated by oligarchs. The actions of President Volodymyr Zelensky speak for themselves: in less than two years in office, he did much more for de-oligarchization than any of the previous presidents, without pretentious slogans and populism. Ukraine is grateful to its partners for their support on this path, "the message says.
The Office noted that every fair decision in the fight against oligarchs will help Ukraine become a strong and truly independent state.
Zelensky assured that Kyiv intends to relentlessly move on the path of reforming each sector and strengthening relations, including with a strategic partner - the United States.
On March 5 it was reported that the United States publicly recognized the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky involved in corruption and introduced restrictive measures against him and his family.
Earlier, the US prosecutor's office accused the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and his business partner Gennady Bogolyubov of using misappropriated funds to buy real estate in Ohio.
In addition, the US Department of Justice accused Kolomoisky of “stealing billions from a bank he once owned” and laundering them in the United States.
