Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov held the meeting with Political Director of European External Action Service (EEAS) Jean Christophe Belliard as the NSDC reported.
During the meetings, the sides discussed the current issues of the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union and exchanged opinions on the development of the security sphere in the region.
The parties paid particular attention to the issue of Donbas Conflict and ways of the solution of the situation in occupied territories. According to NSDC Secretary, “there are limits of compromise we can reach” within the implementation of Minsk Agreements.
In his turn, Belliard noted that the president of Ukraine had already made enough steps for the progress in the peace settlements and now Russia should demonstrate the constructive approach in response.
According to Danilov, Ukraine should focus on the creation of humanitarian corridors and improvement the lives of people living in the occupied territories.
On October 23, Zelensky and German’s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed the situation in Donbas and came to the conclusion that the Normandy format is 'the main way to cease the armed aggression against Ukraine'.
