MP from the Norwegian Progress Party Christian Tibring-Gedde has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He could be awarded for his efforts to resolve long-term conflicts between different countries, according to Fox News.
“Just weeks after helping to bring peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), President Trump was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize,” it said.
For example, Christian Tibring-Gedde, a member of the Norwegian Progress Party, sent a letter to the Nobel Committee, where he explained why the American leader should be presented with the award.
“I think he did more trying to bring peace between nations than most of the other Peace Prize nominees,” he said.
The politician added that the administration of the American president played a key role in building relations between the Israeli side and the UAE.
Note that the Nobel Peace Prize is an award that is awarded annually by the Nobel Committee in Oslo to individuals and organizations that have made, in the opinion of the committee, an outstanding contribution to the strengthening of peace. It has been awarded since 1901.
As we reported earlier, Israel and the United Arab Emirates will sign the historical deal on normalizing bilateral relations. The ceremony would take place in the White House on September 15
